Doula Services

Preparing people for birth and accompanying them through transitions -- it's my happy place. I bring a holistic and public health perspective to my doula care. I dedicate my limited doula time to single parents, LGBTQ families, immigrant couples, and those struggling with infertility, previous loss, termination or miscarriage - in the Jersey City/NYC area.  Please reach out for my availability or with any questions about my support. My rates range from $0 to $1,500 depending on timeframe and your specific needs. I also have a robust network of other local doulas should I be unavailable.

Birth Philosophy

I support birthing parent, partner and family as individuals and as a unit. I am your advocate, by helping elevate your voice during communication and decisions with your medical team. I create a team atmosphere. Every person is different, and brings their own beliefs and hopes to the experience. I approach everyone with a clean slate. If you are not ready for parenthood for any reason, you have options and the right to choose what’s best for you and your family.

Prenatal Education

Prenatal education is all about building your confidence for birth and as a parent. We discuss how to bring intention and mindfulness to pregnancy and parenthood, what to expect during labor, nursing and feeding options, post-partum sleep (for you and baby), handling a new baby with your other children, getting out and about with baby, protecting your relationship with your partner, and more.

Postpartum Visits

The postpartum period focuses on recovery, feeding, newborn care, and all your needs as a parent and as a new/larger family unit. From infant soothing, bathing, feeding options and breastfeeding support, your own healing and recovery, self-care as new parents, when to seek medical care for yourself and your baby... I am here to help you navigate parenthood.

Trainings & Certifications

I am a Certified Doula through Doula Trainings International, and am experienced in: mindfulness techniques, maternal movement for optimal fetal positioning, traditional rebozo support for labor, childbirth education, fertility awareness, and massage and comforting touch for labor. I’m also certified in infant and pediatric CPR through the American Heart Association.

Labor Support

Labor and birth support is the most traditional doula care. Once your labor begins, I support your entire labor and birth physically and emotionally, including the support of your partner and family. Whether your birth involves induction, medication, surgery, or none of these interventions, I provide education, advocacy tools, and support throughout. My primary goal is the birthing person's experience, safety and satisfaction with their birth journey.

Miscarriage or Termination

Loss and termination of a pregnancy is a difficult experience. Whether planned or unexpected, my support consists of listening and guiding where necessary, and can include being present during procedures or while you are at home, and follow-up visits to help you heal. Loss and termination support is all about holding a safe and judgement-free space for you to experience the loss however it happens for you. No fee, please reach out.

What Clients Say

Emily - Brooklyn, NY

"Support during labor was great, but honestly the biggest value was Becky's prenatal meetings, and talking through my expectations and fears together."
